DDB Healthcare Speech Therapy
The primary function of DDB Healthcare's Speech Therapy program is to evaluate individuals for disorders of speech, language, hearing, or swallowing. In addition, Speech Therapists plan, implement, and supervise individual therapeutic programs based upon physician referral. Disorders treated may include but are not limited to:
- Aphasia
- Dysarthria
- Apraxia
- Voice disorders
- Hearing problems
- Dysphagia
- Head trauma
- Rate & Rythma disorders
Training and Other Qualifications:
The Speech/Language Pathologist shall hold a Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology and hold or have completed the requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
Other qualifications. Speech-language pathologists should be able to effectively communicate diagnostic test results, diagnoses, and proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by their patients and their families. They must be able to approach problems objectively and be supportive. Because a patient’s progress may be slow, patience, compassion, and good listening skills are necessary.
